Max's Thanksgiving Cocktails

Since his inaugural Brown Derby cocktail at Thanksgiving three years ago, Max has become the official cocktail expert of Thanksgiving and also for MarnaMaria. His expertise involves working for some of the most well-known bars in Seattle including one of our favorites, the speakeasy Tavern Law!

Here are his Thanksgiving favorites!

 

Brown Derby

1 1/2 oz bourbon

1 oz grapefruit

1/2 oz honey

grapefruit twist for garnish

Shake and strain into a cocktail glass.

Garnish with grapefruit twist

 

 

Vieux Carré

¾ oz. rye whiskey

¾ oz. cognac

¾ oz. sweet vermouth

¼ oz. Bénédictine liqueur

2 dash Peychaud’s Bitter’s

2 dash angostura bitters

ice

lemon twist for garnish

Build in a lowball glass on the rocks.

Stir and gains with lemon twist.

 

 

French 75

1 lemon

1 1/2 ounces gin

3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup

ice cubes

2 ounces Champagne

lemon twist for garnish

Shake together gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and ice.

Strain into Champagne flute and top with Champagne.

Garnish drink with lemon twist.
