1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp. corn starch
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp. MarnaMaria Garam Masala plus extra for decorating
1 batch Cream Cheese Frosting

Stir in the vanilla.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, sift together the flour, corn starch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Working in batches, with the mixer running, add 1/3 of the flour mixture to the creamed sugar and butter. Then add 1/3 of the milk mixture. Continue alternating flour and milk, finishing with the milk. Mix until just combined. The batter will be very thick.
Scoop batter into a prepared cupcake pan, filling about 2/3 the way full.
Bake cupcakes for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
When cool, frost cupcakes and sprinkle with a bit more Garam Masala for a beautiful finished product with some extra spice!

My husband has a love hate relationship with these beans. Love because he absolutely loves them, and hate because he is always eating that at inappropriate times and hears it from me.
Let me explain.
Growing up, my mom didn’t drink alcohol. So her drink of choice, the pina colada. In the summertime, we would go down to waikiki to use one of the hotel pools, and she would splurge and order her and me a icy pina colada, colored toothpick cocktail umbrella included.
There is spaghetti with meatballs and then there is spaghetti with meatballs. You know, we all have our favorites. This is an easy recipe you can make at home that will keep you from wanting to go out! The silky sauce, the tasty meatballs, and the al dente bucatini. Is this real life?
A Cadillac margarita is how a margarita should be. Not too sweet, not too strong, with good citrus and a smooth flavor that lets the tequila shine.
There’s mashed potatoes, and then there are mashed potatoes. Our version starts with layers of flavors right from the get go: Potatoes boiled with aromatics like celery, bay leaf, and garlic, add a secret umami dimension to the final result. Adding thyme infused brown butter at the end is not a bad touch either.
Our MarnaMaria Yellow Curry is pefect for Indian cuisine but can also be used in Thai Yellow Curries as well. Instead of tomato, substitue coconut milk, and add sliced potatoes and carrots. Serve over sticky jasmine rice or noodles.
The keyword when making Jamaican Jerk Chicken is SPICE!
Jerk Seasoning is full of spices and packs some heat, it should be grilled over high heat, and it served hot to ensure a crispy bite. This is one to try!
Caprese salad is one of the great salads of our lives. It’s light, healthy, and fresh! Be sure to use quality ingredients their delicate flavors will shine through. We love using our Tellicherry Pepper here as the spice is mild and the flavor is big!
Scallops tend to be less weekday night and more of a weekend evening fare but they don’t have to be. Scallops are easy to prepare, take less than five minutes and will impress your guests or family with minimal effort! Delicious and decadent!
Thanksgiving. It is a word that means so much to so many: long days cooking a fantastic feast, followed by the epic tryptophan coma. Often, the very smells catapult one back to the past: the smell of celery and onion cooking in butter, and the moment the sage goes into the pan.
